I had brown spotting with my first pregnancy around week 4 or 5. It lasted for about 2 weeks and i never saw it again. I delivered my baby girl in jan. I am now pregnant with baby #2 and am a little over 4 weeks and i have the spotting again. I\'m not going to get my panties all in a twist like i did last time..The worst thing i need now is stress!
I\'m sitting here staring at my beautiful baby girl (born Jan 12) and wanted to lend my support to you ladies! I posted in this group back in May when I was experiencing brown discharge from about 6-9 weeks. It was very heavy some days and scared the hell out of me! Obviously, everything turned out ok so hang in there ladies! Trust your doctors and know that this can be a very normal thing and lots of people experience it. My dr had told me that 1/3 of women have this unexplained bleeding/brown discharge and go on to have completely normal pregnancies.
I was reading all these because I have the same thing going on, and was really scared. I was spotting brown, mucousy discharge for over a week straight (saw whenever when I wiped) and thought for sure it was terrible news. All the posts seemed to be 50/50 on outcome. For me, it was happening from 7-8 weeks, and still is. I had also been having cramping for week 5-6, which could be a bad sign, but it felt more mild, so I thought it was my uterus stretching. With those things going on I was really worried when my symptoms declined near the middle of week 7-8. I pretty much accepted that there wouldn\'t be anything to see on my monday appointment. But, I had it today and everything was fine, with a heartbeat. The size is about a week behind what was estimated, but they said that was ok (maybe ovulated a bit later). So, there can be positive outcome with brown spotting. I feel like I\'m not out of the woods yet, but am feeling so much better.
I\'m pregnant with my fourth child and i have had spotting as well as full on bleeding in all of the pregnancies, in the first trimester. Every single time i thought i had miscarried. I\'m still in the first trimester with my fourth and of course i\'ve had the same bleeding pink, brown and red and yes, even some cramping some times...But i\'ve had 2 u/s\'s so far that showed nothing wrong and god willing all will be fine this time also. The doctor told me this is very common. So while i know it\'s not always normal to bleed for me it apparently is.

I have had this same dark brown discharge since the start of my pregnancy. The doctor said not to worry about it because it was likely old blood. She sent me for an ultrasound probably to ease my mind and everything was fine. I saw what they said was my baby and there was a heartbeat. I am 10 weeks now, i still have the discharge but it seems to happen to a lot of people.

I am so glad to read all of the posts on the brownish discharge. I have been discharging for a few days and finally called the doctors office on a friday afternoon and they are closed. I didn\'t want to run to the er for small amounts of discharge. I\'m 7 weeks pregnant and saw the heartbeat last week. I can now enjoy the weekend knowing that a discolored discharge is normal. Thanks and best wishes to all.
